Odessa Archeological Museum.

There are more than 160000 exhibits from the 6th century B.C. up to the 8th century A.D: the excavation of ancient Greek colonies: Tyras, Panticapea, Olbia, Khersonesus and others; the Scythians and the Sarmatians; Russian state: Kievan Rus. Great collection of priceless ancient artifacts. Address: 4 Lanzheronovskaya Street (close to Odessa city hall).

 

Odessa Fine Arts Museum.

There is unique collection of paintings from the 14th century. World samous painters Savrasov, Serov, Vrubel, Aivazovsky, Repin, Kramskoy, Rorich, Somov, Benz, Serebriakova, Kandinski are represented in Odessa museum of Fine Arts. Address: 15, Sofievskaya Street (close to Odessa medical University).

 

Museum of Literature.

There are about 40000 exhibits: works of Russian, Polish, Ukrainian, Jewish, Bulgarian writers (300 names). If you are fond of literature the museum will worth of visiting. Address: 2 Lanzheronovskaya Street (close to Odessa city hall).

 

Museum of Partisan Glory.

2000 km of natural sandstone tunnels (also called catacombs) are under Odessa city. These tunnels were used by partisans to hide during their fighting with Nazi troops in World War II. Catacombs are still not fully investigated. Investigated and well known part is open to public. The museum of partisan glory is based here. Address: Odessa Region, Nerubayskoye Village.

 

Odessa Regional History Museum.

There is complete information about Odessa city: foundation, architecture, governors, outstanding people, and events, political and cultural life. Address: 4 Gavanaya Street (opposite restaurant Kumanets)

 

Oriental Arts Museum.

Private collections of a wealthy Odessa residents form the exhibits of the museum. Masterpieces from Europe, antiquities from Holland, Italy, France, Ancient Greece and ancient Rome are represented in museum collection. The oriental art is represented by masterpieces from China, India, Japan, and Tibet.  Address: 9 Pushkinskaya Street (close to Deribasovskaya Street).

 

The Jewish museum.

In Odessa's population predominate Russians, Ukrainians, and Jews. The Jewish Community of Odessa founded the museum. Culture, tradition and life of Jewish people. Cultural links with Jewish Communities worldwide. Address: 46A Malaya Anautskaya Street, downtown.
